Agreed. I have a friend who after a massive knee operation, restricted to bed for 6 weeks, and forbidden to do any strenous exercise for about 6 months, received a golf set from her husband, three days after the operation on her birthday. To this day, it remains a touchy subject..

A hoover? OMG, not a wise gift choice. A spanking is much nicer, even if it doesn't get the rugs clean.
