A man sat next to a Koi pond, and was amazed at the beauty of the fish. Not only did he notice that the fish were in excellent condition, but they were of exceptional size. The caretaker was busy at the pond, taking samples of the water, so after complimenting him on the fish, he asked the caretaker, what it is that he feeds the fish to get them to this size? The caretaker replied that it is not about the food, but rather all about the water.

The water has to be at exactly the right depth in relation to the size of the pond to make sure that ultimate growth can be attained.

He added that the water should be tested regularly, to make sure that it is maintained at the exact temperature.

The water should never be allowed to become murky, and all care must be taken that it remains crystal clear.

 When testing the water, he makes sure that there are sufficient nutrients within and that no toxins are present.

The caretaker smiled as he told the man that if he wants Koi fish as the ones in the pond in front of him, he only needs to look after the water, the fish would flourish and grow on their own, ultimately giving him the enjoyment and pleasure he so treasures.
